Just because it's been a while

Pretty sure nobody reads my posts at this point, but here it goes anyway.

Another big game for UM this weekend, as every game from here on out is big. First key is the passing game. Seriously, we know UM can run the ball with Denard and Fitz and co. So, how do we fix the passing game? MAKE him watch more video of other great QB's and less video of himself. See if he notices what makes them so great. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, for example, are two of the best because they DON'T try to do too much and force the ball. They, more often than not, throw the ball short and hit the dump pass, let those players make the plays down the field. You have to get them the ball sooner to give them time to make a play if they need to. Most of Denards throws are down field when they don't need to be. Hit the dump pass and who cares if you average 5 yards every pass, especially if you only need 2. Eventually, one of those passes is going to break into a huge gain. Stop looking down field so much.
Either leave Gardner in for a full series or leave him off the field. I like having both on the field, I like Gardners arm more, but when he's in and out over and over, there's NO rhythm for him, Denard or the offense as a whole. That KILLED us against Purdue early on and may have cost us against MSU. If we decide to keep doing it THAT way, it will cost us down the road too. Experience for Gardner is GREAT in the long run, but be smarter about it all.
